T'was the night before Christmas card for my Son

Here is the card I made for my son and his girlfriend. I'd had the idea for this card last year but didn't get around to making it, I'm glad I waited as they now have a kitten called Fig, and I coloured the kitten in the House Mouse stamp the same as their kitten ...
Fig
This just might be the first card I've made that actually turned out better than I expected. Hope you liked it too :o)

Birthday card for my son - Fable the game

Here's another card I found on my card disk that got overlooked, it's a card I made for my son's birthday about 7 years ago, again not the best of cards but again I enjoyed making it. The characters are from a game he liked to play called Fable, I also made him a Christmas card from the same game, that one however did make it onto my blog !!! ...

Oriental Birthday card for my Dad

I was looking through a disk I have with all the photo's of my cards that I have made over the years and I found this one I made for my Dad, that somehow didn't make it onto my blog. It's not the best of cards, but I remember I enjoyed making it ...

All the pictures were printed on silk and all the texts were printed on fibrous paper. The pink cherry blossoms in the bottom picture I "embroidered", I use the term loosely as sewing is not my forte. And if I remember correctly the pictures in the top two photo's are from a Joanna Sheen disc.

Art Deco Birthday card - For her

A few years back I made a card that I wasn't happy with so it got put in a box and forgot about. A few days ago I was looking for inspiration for a card and decided to look through my box of "not happy with" cards and came across it and decided to revamp it. The first photo is of the original ...
Original card

The chocolate pictures are from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique CD and are printed onto printable silk. The backing papers are from the same CD, printed onto pearlescent card.

Art Deco Fathers Day Card

Finally got back to some crafting after giving myself some time off from my last effort. I thought I'd do something simple, thought Art Deco was the way to go. Simple my eye, I've never cut so many weird angles, and yes all those pieces are individually cut by hand, apart from the circle, that was a nestabilites die and the fany die cuts on the back of the card. I think I prefer this card to the Art Deco birthday card I made. Anyway here it is...
I used Mirri card and satin Mirri card over a thick card (mirri card tends to curl). The sentiment is computer generated and are the lyrics from The Hollies "he ain't heavy, he's my brother" song though I substituted brother for father. The design on the the sentiments are a perfume bottle rubber stamp (Joanna Sheen made but no longer sells) but I only used the stopper part. The diamanté chain was also from Joanna Sheen again she no longer sells it. Some fine silver peel offs and a couple of square rhinestones. Here are the pictures I found on the web that inspired this card ...

New Baby Side Step Card

My brother has FINALLY become a Daddy and I have a new niece Pippa :o) I decided to do a side step card but I wanted it not to collapse so I fixed it to a board. So now it's more of a 3D, 360, diorama rather than a card, but then that's me, I like making extra work for myself :oD
The first 3 photo's are how I did the main construction...

I used mounting board for the base covered with Bazzill card. The sides I didn't cover until most of the elements were stuck on, this was so's I could put a ruler or finger inside for support when sticking something down.

The birds, bees, dragon flies, snail, flowers, toadstools, mushrooms and trees are all Magnolia rubber stamps. The sun, rabbit worm, clouds and butterfly body are made from different pictures sourced from the web. eg. the sun has been made up from 2 different pictures with extra drawing by me and the worm was made up from 3 pictures. The butterfly wings were made from a Martha Stewart punch and coloured with smooch. The rainbow I made myself using a compass and Derwents coloursoft pencils and covered in Smooch top coat. The grass was made using Magnolias DooHickeys Grass die and Matha Stewarts grass punch.
The sentiments were computer generated. "Pippa" was coloured in with Atyou Spica glitter pens and gone over twice with Sakura Gellroll Glaze pen. The frame for the large sentiment was made with Crafts Too Daises embossing folder and Nestabilities Dahlia die, the embossing folder had first been inked with Brilliance Sky Blue ink pad. Punched daisies were added with half pearls and seed beads. The little teddy is one of those dangly things you put on your mobile/cell phone. The "picnic" is dolls house stuff and ribbon, and I made the flag with a cocktail stick and a bit of card. There I think I covered everything.
